The Maximum Drawdown (also called Overall Loss Limit) is the total amount your account is allowed to lose from its starting balance or from the balance at your last Reward (payout). Unlike the Daily Drawdown, this limit applies across the entire trading period, not just one day.
🔎 How It Works
-
Each account has a maximum drawdown limit, usually set as a percentage (e.g., 10%).
-
If your equity (balance + open trades) falls below this threshold, your account is closed immediately.
-
The rule is calculated against your highest balance at the start of the period or after your last Reward.
📊 Example
-
Starting balance: $100,000
-
Maximum Drawdown: 10%
-
You must always keep equity above $90,000.
-
If your equity drops to $89,999 (even briefly), the account is breached and closed.
⚠️ Important Notes
-
Both closed trades and floating P/L count toward this rule.
-
Unlike Daily Drawdown, this limit does not reset — it applies across your whole trading period.
-
Once breached, the account is permanently invalid, even if markets later recover.
